A Message from the Medical Director

Greetings Wisconsinites! Following a brief decline in COVID-19 activity, many states and communities are experiencing a resurgence of activity, which sadly is resulting in suffering, hospitalization and deaths. The vaccines available are effective to a very high degree in preventing serious consequences of both the original COVID strain as well as the Delta variant, which is driving the majority of new cases. Many people have been reluctant to be vaccinated. As a country, almost half of adults have been vaccinated. Overall, Wisconsin has done better than average. Our experience with the safety of the vaccine has been further strengthened by this large number of persons having been vaccinated. I feel that being vaccinated is not for oneself, but for your family. You still have the opportunity to be vaccinated! I encourage everyone to continue wearing masks so that we can do all that we can to keep each other safe and stop the spread. I would like to thank everyone for their help in managing these challenges and encourage everyone to continue to be vigilant; and don’t let down your guard.
