Friends & Family

Wisconsin Department of Corrections understands incarceration can be difficult for the persons in our care (PIOC), their friends and their family members. Support is an important part of rehabilitation, and we hope the information shared here will help loved ones maintain strong relationships with individuals throughout incarceration.

Friends & Family Forums

DOC understands the crucial role that support from family and friends plays in rehabilitation and successful reentry into the community. As part of our commitment to serving the people of Wisconsin with transparency and accountable decision-making, Friends & Family Forums will provide an opportunity for those directly engaged with our agency to ask questions, offer feedback and positively contribute to our state's corrections policies.

To foster a supportive environment for productive dialogue, attendance at the forums is limited to friends and family members of individuals who are currently incarcerated or on active community supervision.

Friends & Family Resources

Navigating incarceration and community supervision can be a complex process, not only for those in our care, but for their loved ones. This Friends & Family Resource Guide was created to help individuals better understand the agency's processes, procedures and more.
