Purpose Statement

New Lisbon Correctional Institution (NLCI) is committed to the safety and security of the public, staff, and persons in our care (PIOC). PIOC are treated in a humane and constructive manner and will be held accountable for their actions and the positive or negative consequences associated with their choices. We will encourage PIOC to develop goals conducive to positive release planning and their reentry into society.

Institution Information

Construction on NLCI began in 2001 and was completed the following year. The facility, a medium-security prison in Juneau County, sits on 100 acres. Eight buildings include four housing units; a restrictive housing unit; a gatehouse; a health services unit; a school complex; a library; religious programming space; and administrative offices. NLCI offers academic and vocational education; inmate work assignments; recreation; treatment programs; personal development; reentry modules; and restorative justice initiatives.
