Intermittent Phone Outages Improved:
For the past couple of months, the residents at all DOC facilities have experienced sporadic phone service and outages especially during high peak usage times. See the letter from ICS:

This change in service was a direct result from the significant increase in call volume as a result of adding phone calling feature to the new tablets. With this change, residents will have more opportunities to contact friends and family.

In June 2025, ICS made a significant investment and improvements to their hardware and software. Since this change, the call failure and dropped calls has greatly improved. Calls are now able to be placed during peak usage times with more reliability.
